This training will cover a comprehensive curriculum around the range of strategies that can be implemented to deal with abandoned housing, ranging from code enforcement to viable reuse.  Trainers will focus on key issues, including process (such as defining the problem, determining and articulating goals, quantifying existing need and resources, developing current and future neighborhood typologies, and engaging stakeholders), tools, and interventions (such as strategic demolition, code enforcement, and property reuse).

Jim Kelley, principal of Vital Neighborhoods Consulting and clinical professor of law at Notre Dame, will lead this training alongside Adam Gross, director of the Affordable Housing and Justice Reform Programs at the Business and Professional People for the Public Interest (BPI).

This training is underwritten by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.

Join the trainers and the Landbanking Affinity Group for lunch on October 19th to network with peers and discuss this strategy in more depth. Lunch will be provided.
