Placemaking is about making safe, attractive neighborhoods where people want to live, work, play, and learn.  Concepts of design standards, safety, Complete Streets, and walkable urbanism are important features of successful places.  Participants will learn how communities large and small have grappled with placemaking to include the quality of life for residents of all ages and economic situations.  Partners from the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM) will present the Placemaking curriculum that has been developed and implemented in communities across Michigan.  Participants may also request a limited amount of free direct technical assistance from CEDAM following the course.

This training is underwritten by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.
